Friedman, an operating division of Constellation, is a global software provider to a range of vertical markets. Due to recent rapid expansion, Friedman has an immediate need for an M&A professional in its German operation to source, develop and lead acquisition efforts across the EU. THE POSITION

As an important member of the Friedman operating group, you will source and support the execution of strategic acquisitions of vertical-market-software companies across of Europe countries by:

• Developing and conducting prospecting campaigns of small to mid-market technology businesses 
• Identifying targets meeting our strategic criteria and specific financial/operational metrics
• Gathering, reviewing and presenting target company financial information to senior executives
• Preparing detailed financial models to support acquisition pricing
• Participating in due diligence 
• Negotiating deal terms with target companies.

You will source acquisition targets by conducting independent research, making outbound contact, attending tradeshows, and through various other means. You will lead high-level meetings with executives from acquisition prospects.  You will negotiate non-disclosure agreements, drafting letters of intent, conducting due diligence, and negotiating final purchase agreements.  You will build and keep current a proprietary database of key industry contacts.  You are proficient in building complex valuation models and with minimal guidance.

You will work out of our Linden office, located outside of Frankfurt.

Our business is a long term one in which building relationships and networking with others plays an important role.  The position requires a skilled verbal and written communicator with the confidence and polish to speak with senior executives, lawyers, accountants, and investment bankers.

You are driven to perform, results-oriented and willing to work variable hours.  You have excellent social skills, a warm phone manner, and are an enthusiastic energetic self-starter. You are extremely organized and do not let details slip through the cracks.  You are a collaborative individual, who likes to put forward suggestions and ideas on how to improve the status quo.

SPECIALIZED SKILLS:

• Fluent in English and German. Other European languages an asset
• Excellent academic performance in Business/Finance degree (i.e. BBA, BCom, MBA, etc.) with preference given to those with relevant further study/designations (CBV, CFA, etc.)
• Direct and relevant M&A work experience (i.e. strategy/corporate development, investment banking, venture capital, private equity, etc.)
